Who owns the work

Each project is the work of the students who built it, and they keep their copyright. Olivet University displays and archives the work with their permission, as coursework for ITEC100 - Introduction to Information Technology.

Using a project from this site

Each project states its own licence on its page. Students choose it themselves — deciding how your work may be used is part of shipping software, so the platform asks rather than deciding for them.

Projects may be offered under any of:

• All rights reserved — read it and run it; reusing the code needs the author's permission.
• MIT License — use, change and redistribute it, keeping the copyright notice.
• Apache License 2.0 — the same, keeping the notices and stating your changes; it also grants a patent licence.
• Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 — share and adapt it, with credit.

Where a student has not chosen, the work is All rights reserved. That default protects the author, and an open licence cannot be taken back once given.

Reading the code, running a published browser project and learning from the documentation are expected uses whatever the licence.

Downloads

Release packages and handoff documents are not public. They are released only to signed-in course members whose instructor has allowed downloads, and every file is scanned for malware before it is stored. Projects are stored and served here; they are never executed on this server.

Projects that run in your browser

Browser-playable projects are served from a separate domain that has no access to this site or to your account, so a student's code cannot read your session. They are still student work: expect rough edges, and report anything that looks wrong to Dr. Taegil Ha.

Accuracy

The technical information on each project page is written by the students who built it and checked by the instructor at review. It describes the project as it was at the moment it was submitted — which is the point — but external services a project depends on may change or disappear over time.

Takedown and copyright

If you believe something on this site infringes your rights, contact Dr. Taegil Ha, tgha@olivetuniversity.edu. A project can be unpublished immediately while a question is looked into, without deleting the student's work.
