About this project

SAMPLE PROJECT / REFERENCE IMPLEMENTATION. Built by the course developer before the term to prove this submission path works. Not student work.

One HTML page, one stylesheet, one script and one JSON data file. Passages load from the bundled file at start-up, so the tool works offline after the first load and needs no backend, no database and no API key. Bookmarks are kept in the browser.

It is reference project A: the static web path, where the submitted files are the deployable build.

Problem and purpose

Looking up related passages usually means several browser tabs and losing track of what has been read. This keeps the list, the filters and the reader's bookmarks on one screen.

Intended users

Students and small-group leaders gathering passages on a theme without installing anything.

Major features

  • Filter by book and by theme
  • Search across every bundled passage
  • Bookmark passages and show only those
  • Copy a passage with its reference
  • Works offline after the first load

Known limitations

36 passages, not a complete Bible. Bookmarks live in one browser only. Search is a substring match, so "lite" does not find "light". No printing view.

How it is built

index.html holds the structure and a <template> for one card; app.js loads the JSON, filters it and renders into a document fragment that is swapped in once; styles.css holds everything visual. Bookmarks are localStorage, wrapped in try/catch because a private window throws on access.

Who built it

  • Dr. Taegil Ha Author (reference implementation)

Wrote the project as the course's worked example of this submission path.
